See the Northern Lights with confidence. AuroraMe combines real-time space weather and local sky conditions into clear visibility forecasts, a 3D globe, and timely alerts.
3D GLOBE AURORA MAP
See real-time aurora activity on an interactive globe. Toggle the aurora heatmap, switch between dark and NASA satellite themes, check day/night zones, and tap anywhere to inspect or save a location.
AURORA SCORE
Aurora Score combines space weather, magnetic latitude, darkness, clouds, and moonlight into a 0–100 viewing score. It is a model score, not a calibrated probability.
SMART AURORA ALERTS
Alerts are sent only for your active locations. We factor in darkness, cloud cover, moonlight, and geomagnetic activity, so an alert means a high chance, not a 100% guarantee. Forecast, storm, KP, and solar flare alerts are heads-ups to get ready. Before heading out, open the map to confirm conditions.
72-HOUR FORECAST
Hourly aurora predictions paired with weather data. See cloud percentage, moon phase, darkness windows, and temperature hour-by-hour. Use "Best Time" filter to show only optimal aurora viewing hours. Free users: 24-hour preview. Premium: full 72-hour detailed forecast with extended planning.
27-DAY TREND CALENDAR
Plan weeks ahead with daily activity summaries and the best 6-hour viewing window for each day. Long-range weather is excluded because it is not reliable enough.
AURORA HISTORY
11 years of history and Sun Pro insights. A best-month view and calendar heatmap reveal seasonal activity patterns for your selected location.
FIND NEAREST AURORA
Discover active aurora within 2000 km of your location. Distance-first algorithm finds the nearest visible displays for spontaneous aurora chasing. Perfect for road trips when conditions shift unexpectedly.
67,500+ LOCATIONS OFFLINE
Search cities across 252 countries with instant offline results. Track unlimited locations with independent notification settings for each. No background GPS tracking — your privacy protected.
HOW IT WORKS
Six viewing factors work together: NOAA space-weather/Kp activity, cloud cover, darkness, moonlight, magnetic latitude, and optional sky-quality context. Alerts fire when current local conditions meet your threshold.
FOR AURORA HUNTERS & PHOTOGRAPHERS
Whether in Alaska, Canada, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Scotland, or the northern US, save viewing spots and let AuroraMe monitor conditions. Photographers get score and factor data for better shooting windows.
FREE — EVERYTHING YOU NEED
1 location, full 24-hour forecast, aurora, storm, Kp and solar-flare alerts, all 6 map overlays, and forecast data refreshed every 15 minutes.
PREMIUM — FOR AURORA CHASERS
Unlimited locations worldwide, 72-hour forecast, 27-day trip planner calendar, Best Time filter, Best Month & seasonal heatmap, Nearest Aurora finder, advanced alerts (predictive, Storm Watch, CME Impact ETA, Local Window, Weekly Forecast), Sun Pro AI-powered solar analytics.
PRIVACY
Location used only when you choose — no background tracking.

Use the full app interface and alerts in 37 supported languages.
Aurora visibility depends on space weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed. Always check local conditions and dress warmly for night viewing.

AuroraMe: Northern Lights App version 1.9.31
Updated At: 2026-10-12
Changes: New "I see aurora" button on Home: let others know when you see it, and see how many people nearby have spotted it. The map now opens on tonight's peak, with a Now/Tonight switch and an aurora legend. The Sun tab starts with a verdict for the next three nights. The home screen widget now refreshes on its own.
AuroraMe: Northern Lights App version 1.9.22
Updated At: 2026-09-26
Changes: Smoother, faster swiping between your locations. Sky conditions on the main screen now match the cloud card. Clearer local times, a tidier forecast and fewer pop-ups.
AuroraMe: Northern Lights App version 1.9.18
Updated At: 2026-09-16
Changes: Improved subscription price clarity and localization. Fixed an empty forecast preview during onboarding when forecast data had gaps.
AuroraMe: Northern Lights App version 1.9.13
Updated At: 2026-09-13
Changes: Restore Premium bought on our website from Settings. We’ve improved activation and the aurora map.
AuroraMe: Northern Lights App version 1.9.9
Updated At: 2026-09-05
Changes: Report an aurora sighting any time from the home screen, not only when the app predicted one. More accurate forecasts for places just outside the aurora oval, where the aurora appears low on the horizon. Stability and data fixes.
AuroraMe: Northern Lights App version 1.9.4
Updated At: 2026-08-29
Changes: Thin high clouds no longer count against you. The forecast now tells solid low cloud apart from the wispy high kind you can see the aurora straight through.
A clear night under a high haze now reads as clear, instead of "Cloudy".
AuroraMe: Northern Lights App version 1.8.0
Updated At: 2026-08-19
Changes: The app opens faster. Screens you can't see no longer do their loading in the background before you ever get to them.
Also fixed: forecast dates could land on the wrong day in some time zones, adding your first location could crash the app, and the rating request no longer interrupts your first run.
AuroraMe: Northern Lights App version 1.7.7
Updated At: 2026-08-08
Changes: New in this update: a sharper onboarding experiment that builds your aurora plan faster, more reliable location setup, and cleaner experiment tracking for the 11 vs 12 flow. Forecast setup should feel smoother from the first screen.
AuroraMe: Northern Lights App version 1.6.7
Updated At: 2026-06-03
Changes: Added new animations for a smoother onboarding experience and improved forecast accuracy for aurora activity, clouds, and best viewing windows.
